Check out this great post by Dionne on the Arizona Immigration law!

Many sources can be seen as unreliable now-a-days (yes, I did just underline that for no apparent reason). Even the news can’t be 100% reliable anymore because there is so much distortion and biased opinions in stories recently that it’s hard to know the truth. Also, even though this is usually told be a complete crack, their is government involvement in many things and they may change what is said to keep them from being crippled in anyway. There are a few ways to check this but sometimes even the checks won’t give you a 100% sure feeling that it is reliable. For one, always check sources that the article provides (or whichever media source you may be using). Always check other articles as well from other news stations, newspapers, etc to see how their story compares to the one you read. Other than that, I am not really sure how to check a source. I mean, you could hunt down any people they interview, but I am pretty sure that’s against the law, so watch yourselves in that area. (via The Land of Matticus: Reliability)

Check out the team’s progress throughout the creation of their game. They truly have shown the steps of working towards the completion of the game!

"I am interested in the Knowledge Area of Social and/or Humanity. I researched river pollution since my middle son and I love to fish. We see more and more trash along all the rivers we fish and in them. Some of the rivers in WV are bad enough that I would not consider going fishing there let alone take my son. In WV we have runoff from Mountaintop removal which washes silt and fertilizer in rivers. We also have rivers being polluted by mine drainage and water being polluted from where it is shot down into the ground during oil and gas drilling which ends up back in our creeks and rivers."

Gerald’s Post is about his choice of the topic for the game. He explores the issue of river pollution in hopes of creating  a game teaching students about the importance of cleaning rivers as our social responsibility.

Off to a great start!

"Whew! Lori and I just created our team…The Jury’s Out. I am not sure if that refers to our game or our gaming skills! We have our topic….Juveniles in placement. Obviously, this a topic near and dear to our hearts. I will keep you updated with our progress."
